This past week i got this little video about Aghoris. Those who havent heard if them, they r sadhus who have taken there sadhana to the very extreme. There methids involve living in graveyard, meditating on corpses, drinking animal blood and in the most extreme form eating meat from a human corpse. Dont trust me well follow this link and see for urself..a a word of caution weak of heart plz stay away n dont c them with a full stomach...(click here)
So after seeing this i was haunted with the obvious caution Why do such extreme practices n here r a few answers I could think of...(and to mention a remark from my colleauge sheesh what animals which made me contemplate on this a lil more
- Cultivate Dispassion : Why is it that we feel revolted when we c a human eating the flesh from a dead corpse. I mean the person is dead, no one is murdering them for food. The obvious reason is r attachment to this human form n tthis attachment is exactly what they break...I mean who r we to judge there methods i mean is it not in a way a better to eat flesh from a dead body than killing animals for ones own personal culniary pleasure...when we dont frown upon non vegetarianism then why frown on this..
- Cultivate Will Power : it takes courage to be able to live in a graveyard and it aint for a commoner to do this. They mental strenght involved is immense and beyond the reaches for most of us.
- Overcome fear of Death : if one counquers this ultimate fear it is said he has conquered this world. And as they say what better way to conquer a fear but look at in the face till it does not bother you...n hell there is no denying these guys have overcome this or they r just too damn good at hiiding it.
- Knowledge : now here is the tricky bit. Where is the knowledge come in this whole setting. I mean what is it that u gain from living in a graveyard. Just imagine what a person would do living a secluded spot for years together...well they either go mad or they become one with nature n contemplate on life...n look at these guys n u would now they are not mad. And it is said there is no better teacher than other nature herself. Since these guys learn from the best teacher in the world and are probably more knowledgeable than ur average saint.
I mean guys lets us be objective here...is our judgement on them justified...infact are we even capable of judging them...
1. They dont kill anyone.
2. They live the most peaceful existence in complete harmony with nature..they dont drive arnd use refirgrators and add carbons to the enviroment...they dont steal or hurt anyone...
3. They dont beg...
4. I mean isnt a guy eating chicken more guilty than a Aghroi of violence (Aghoris only feed of corpses)
5. I mean an avarage politician is more guilty than him. He would rather see indian farmers die than pay them n save them...he is just happy getting a cut from the next import of food products...
Now please dont get me wrong...i am not for the aghoris nor am i against them i am just prsenting a view. I am not saying this is the only way or the right way...i am just saying dont be too snap with judgements, dont be driven by visuals and they are not getting into ur was who r we to get into therez..live and let live....
As ever guys please leave ur comments...
Cheers
